Mary in our spiritual life

May 11, 2020 | Guest Author

May is an important month in the Church, because it is a month dedicated to Our Lady, the Mother of the Church and our Mother. It is a month that invites us to direct our gaze to our dear Mother in Heaven. It is a month that also invites us to dwell upon the importance of Mary in our life and in the life of the Church.

The greatness of Mary and her journey on earth is unquestionable. It is so beautiful to see that in all the moments of her life, the constant “Yes” to the Father’s will prevailed. She had a firm confidence in putting everything in God’s hands, with great dedication and humility. Her attention to everything and everyone, her maternal care, and her constant “Yes,” perfectly summarizes who Mary was and continues to be.

One of the biblical passages that portray her personality well is that of the Wedding Feast at Cana. When she realizes that the couple was running out of wine, she whispers her concern and obtains, almost without asking, the miracle of the transformation of water into wine. This passage reveals exactly what Mary is for the life of the Church. She is a Mother who is interested in the children of God who are her children and is always concerned with everyone so that they never lack anything.

Therefore, let us never forget that “We have a Mother!”, A Mother who never forgets us and who always wants our good. Let us also know how to imitate her and always carry her with us everywhere, recognizing her importance in our life and in the life of the Church.
