For persons with disabilities – Monthly Reflection

Dec 6, 2023 | Monthly Reflection

This month’s reflection is a prayer composed by the Assistant Director of L’Arche St. Louis. L’Arche St. Louis is one of 17 communities in L’Arche USA and part of the International Federation of L’Arche. L’Arche USA, “strives to make known the gifts of people with intellectual disabilities, foster environments that meet our members’ changing needs, and engage in diverse cultures, working toward a more human society.”

Heavenly Father,

You have taught us that every person is fearfully and wonderfully made in your image. We come before you today with hearts full of gratitude for each of the unique and beautiful lives you have created, especially in those living with disabilities. We ask that your loving presence surround and uplift all those who face the challenges of disability.

We pray that they may know and experience your unwavering love. May they know their worth by the infinite love you have for them; may it give them strength on their journey.

Grant them and their loved ones the courage to face each day with hope, the patience to endure obstacles, and the resilience to overcome adversity. May they be guided in your grace.

Bless those who work to create accessible spaces, resources, and opportunities for people with disabilities. May their efforts be a reflection of your love for all your children, and may their work be a sign for others of the intrinsic value of human life.

Through the intercession of Mary, our Blessed Mother, and all the saints, we offer these intentions to you with confidence, trusting in your divine plan.

In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, we pray.

Amen

We pray that religious women and men, and seminarians grow in their own vocations through their human, pastoral, spiritual and community formation, leading them to be credible witnesses to the Gospel.
