October 3 – Thursdays from the Heart

The way of St. James, El Camino De Santiago.

We welcome this new month of October with Thursdays from the Heart. We also welcome back Jocelyn who just finished a month-long walk across northern Spain called the Camino de Santiago. She shares about this Catholic pilgrimage where she found it to be less Catholic than expected and where she felt the call to go forth and share the Gospel as we hear in today’s Gospel.

At times there was a sense of curiosity in those walking with her, leading to good conversations about the sacrament of Reconciliation and Mother Mary, the Mother of God and an example of a woman to look up to. There were also times when it was harder to stand up for her faith, and invites us to think of a moment where we too found ourselves being called to be bold, to share our faith, and to dust off our sandals if ever confronted by opposition or hate.

Join us next week to continue to hear about how this experience opened up her heart to new ways of seeing God’s love for his children that found themselves on this pilgrimage from all corners of the world. Not only that but also to share in this community of prayer, to be reminded that we are not alone in our walk of faith and that together we can lead each other to sanctity.
