Novena to the Sacred Heart – Day 6

Quote

Be brave and try to detach your heart from worldly things. Do your utmost to banish darkness from your mind and come to understand what true, selfless piety is. Through confession, endeavor to purify your heart of anything which may still taint it. Enliven your faith, which is essential to understand and achieve piety.” -St. John Bosco

Reflection

St. John Bosco invites us to purify our hearts, in order that we might be free to belong entirely to the purest Heart, that of Christ. What do we need to detach from? What do we need to surrender to God, to place in the fire of His divine love, to place in His Heart? Christ asks that we bring everything to Him, that we hold nothing back, that we belong entirely to Him.
