Offer your day with Mary at your side

May 24, 2021 | Philip Kosloski

St. Maximillian Kolbe once said, “Never be afraid of loving the Blessed Virgin too much. You can never love her more than Jesus did.”

Jesus loved his mother dearly, giving her to the Church to be our heavenly mother. She looks down tenderly upon us with a mother’s love, a love that is not contingent on our actions, but is generous. Our Mother Mary loves us, even when we fall, and with a mother’s touch, lifts us up and dusts us off, putting us on the right path.

One way to express that love and veneration of the Virgin Mary is to consecrate your day in her honor, offering it up to her so that she may show it to her Son, Jesus. By doing so, you will draw closer to Jesus, through your devotion to his Blessed Mother.

St. Ignatius Loyola had a similar devotion to Our Lady of the Way, placing all of his missionary activities into her hands.

Below is the official Daily Offering prayer of the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network, recognizing the Virgin Mary as your mother and queen, entrusting to her all that happens throughout the day, so that she can make it into an acceptable prayer before the throne of Heaven.

Father, here I am. I know you are always with me. I place my heart in the Heart of your Son Jesus, who gives himself to us in the Eucharist each day. May your Holy Spirit strengthen me to live the Gospel in everything I do and say. For my part I give you this day–all my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings–all I am and possess. With Mary, mother of the Church, I pray for the mission of the Church, for all Apostles of Prayer, and for the intentions of the Pope this month. Amen
